Carnegie Medal winner


Ruth Sepetys has won the Carnegie Medal for her superb fictionalised account of the sinking of German ocean liner the Wilhelm Gustloff in 1945. This moving historical novel centres on the stories of refugees and had particular resonance for Ruth who is the daughter of a Lithuanian refugee.
