The Carnegie and Greenaway Medal shortlist for 2014 has been announced. Both new and experienced authors have made it on to the shortlist with Anne Fine hoping that 'Blood Family' will bring her success for the third time. Her previous Carnegie winners are 'Flour Babies' and 'Goggle Eyes'.
This year's list has some dark themes with kidnapping, orphaned children and war all featuring - another excellent selection for shadowers to get their teeth into. Watch the authors talking about their books here.
