Geraldine McCaughrean, prize-winning author of over 170 books, shared her passion for books and writing with the Kimbookworms. Her visit was a real treat for all those who had enjoyed 'The Middle of Nowhere', this year's school Summer Read. Read more about Geraldine and her writing on her blog.

Guardian Young Critics competition

Enter the Guardian Young Critic's competition before the end of October to be in with a chance to win lots of books and book tokens. All you have to do is submit a review of one of the books longlisted for the Guardian Children's Fiction Prize. Some of our favourites are on the list including Sally Nicholls' 'An Island of our Own' and 'The Lie Tree' by Frances Hardinge.
